Mari Trapp You guys are even more my favourite. 🔥🔥🔥😁
I had to double check last week before pulling out legacy for my announcements reel. Thanks for starting on this!
Andrew Hartman
Curious on this one for the group: once "Ability to Upload Video" is there, and you can loop the video, would it be a reasonable work around to output a video of your announcement slides that you simply loop as slide 1? Feel free to tell me this is dumb :)
Patrick Boyd
Andrew Hartman: seems like it would work... But I will say, updating slides versus outputting a new video is much less cumbersome on the user's end.
Andrew Hartman
Patrick Boyd: Helpful! Thank you Patrick!

Emily Ingram
Andrew Hartman: I used to have to do that and I agree with Patrick. Its a mess and takes a lot of extra time. Its a huge reason someone would stick with something like Propresenter.

Andrew Hartman: To my knowledge, based on what people are requesting, it would be more to take a section of sidekick, add a slide timer to each slide (15 seconds) and then just loop the entire section. That was my understanding (and what I was kind of thinking). But yes, your suggestion would work just fine for me!
Jordan Baker
Andrew Hartman: This would not be ideal at all. We add and remove slides from this section every week in propresenter (we have some announcements that only apply every other week or once a month) being able to enable our disable those slides with one click is way better than having to make > export > import a new announcement slide loop every week
Andrew Hartman
Emily Ingram: Thank you! Great insight.
Andrew Hartman
Todd Handell: Agreed, that would be the ideal! Thank you for this.
Andrew Hartman
Jordan Baker: Super helpful, thanks for the details on why it's a bad idea (no sarcasm, it truly is helpful for us)

Justin Schultz
Andrew Hartman: Legit, this is so fun to be a part of. 🔥♥️
Thanks for making this a group effort!
Adam Dougherty
Andrew Hartman: definitely a good workaround, although it would just mean outputting a new video each week if announcements change!
Andrew Hartman
Adam Dougherty: Yeah, not ideal for sure. This was a super helpful thread for us to keep a looking at this as much desired feature.

Yes, need this too as I run slides before each service. Currently using proclaim but would like to use sidekick as my all in one. Not only have the slides run in a loop but then switch to the 5 minute countdown timer before the service starts.
J
Justin Schultz
Thom Blair: This! With the introduction of Sections, being able to have the announcements section on repeat would be so next level!
Having your countdown in the next section and message slides in another…
This would make my life! 😁

Thom Blair
Justin Schultz: Exactly, would make everything easier for me. I currently have to use 2-3 programs just to do everything I want to do or need to do. If Sidekick can get it to loop the shifts to a countdown and ultimately ends on slides you can scroll through on your phone(song videos, extra announcements, games, and lesson/message slides) we would be talking the complete package. As my teens would say, It would slap! 🤣.
Nick Delja
Thom Blair: The looping slide feature is definitely something that we want to do. The lift on it is actually a bit trickier than it appears on the surface with our ability to have multiple controllers/hosts connected.
However, once we lay the foundation for looping, it will unlock the ability for us to do other creative things such as dragging count down/up timers onto any slide as well.

Nick Delja: That’s great! Haha, so far above my pay grade! 😁 I’m just a lowly grateful user! 😂

High on my list as we have pre-service/program to show announcement slides, etc. We use it every week as well
Marty Estes
This was the first thing I tried to build on my own. Hoping it can happen soon.

This is a gooder! I use this also!

GREAT need callout. We use this every week so this is high on my list, too!
